The Sauna Purifier

If your gym has a sauna, and your health allows it, take advantage of it for the sake of your skin and body. The benefits of this natural detoxifier are marvelous.
This vapor bath (a very popular de-stressor in Finland) requires some precautions. If you’ve never used it before, consult with your doctor first, and go with a friend, at least the first time. Keep in mind that you should exit the sauna at the first sign of fatigue or dizziness, and never stay in for more than 8 to 10 minutes.
With these precautions in mind, you can enjoy the benefits of a sauna:
• Increases heart rate and improves overall blood flood
• Opens pores which helps detoxify the skin
• Relaxes you and helps combat stress
• Dilates the lungs and improves breathing
• Alleviates arthritis pain and some skin ailments (others, like rosacea, can be exacerbated)
What should you do after the sauna?
Shower with warm to cold water if you can tolerate the temperature, then hydrate your skin with a milk-based moisturizer. You’ll feel as though you just came out of the most exclusive spa.
