- Mania
-
Mania is a period (usually one week to one month in length) characterized by intense feelings of happiness, impulsiveness, and constant activity - like nonstop talking. In many cases, during moments of mania, even if the person feels very confident and happy, she can also feel nervous and irritated. Many manic patients appear to have never-ending energy and seem to need only a few hours of sleep.
