Many times we watch movies or read books about the lives of artists and even if we are aware of their suffering and frustrations, we believe this is offset by the joy they derive from their creativity. Many times the tribulations, of even the most accomplished artists, are many, but we still believe that the power of creating something new, special and unique, has an immeasurable benefit that brings them the happiness to overcome them.
The majority of us are not artists, but that is no reason to give up on the marvelous engine we all have to generate great gratification and knowledge. It does not need to be an oil-based painting or a bust that we carved from a piece of marble. Creativity is a game we practice when we free ourselves from limits, even if for a moment, and enter a new world.
Time? Money? An afternoon and a $20 can of paint can turn your old wall into a new space that changes the style and lighting of your room and can even affect your mood positively. Two rolls of wallpaper and a bit of patience can transform your laundry room into a fun place to get your clothes clean. You can try cooking a new meal, creating a different hairstyle, or re-arranging your furniture. To express your creativity, you need to only come up with ways to change your daily routine from something familiar to something new.
You don’t need to be a millionaire or to completely change your lifestyle, or to force yourself to try uncomfortable things. With the same discipline that you always carry out your routines, force yourself to renew or change things, even if only with small changes. Like the spices in our food, allow these small changes to add sabor and energy to your days.
